What an unforgettable day!

9.30am

My day started very nice. I was able to sleep until 9.30 while normally I am already awake by 8am! As soon as I woke up and mama said “Good Morning Niels!” I immediately gave her a huge smile…but Mama was too late with the camera.

11.00am

After my bottle of 10am and my burps, Mama and I went to Vatana (a giant store nearby). They have loots of nice toys in there but Mama went straight to the back and she picked up 2 packs of floor mats for me…first I didn’t know what she meant by floor mat until we got home!

12.00 noon

After Mama’s grocery, we got home by 12. She immediately put me in my chair and asked me “Niels! Would you want to join Mama fix up your mat?” But before I could even answer back the plastic was torn out and all the puzzel pieces were lying on the floor already! What the heck, I cannot help her anyway so I just watched her while she excitingly fixes my mat. After 3 minutes it was done!

12.45pm

I fell asleep on my new mat. After 45 minutes of playing on it, whew! I need to rest! With all the colors, figures and numbers on it…I like my new mat!

After a couple of hours...

02.00pm

Ding! Dong! “Lieke is here” Mama shouted! There she is! Lieke visited me! She came with her Mama Hannelore. We were both shy in the beginning but we kept on looking at each other…studying how she will react to me and I think she was doing the same thing…studying me! But its 2pm, its drinking time so our Mama’s gave us our milk first. After slurps and burps were done Mama Hannelore put Lieke beside me! First I was a little bit shy; I didnt know what to do, so I was just looking at her. Then she started talking to me and grabbing my hand. So I thought, “What the heck, if a girl begins the conversation…what more can I ask for?”

Our Tricks

We showed each other what we can do. In crawling position, in sitting position, in sleeping position, in all other positions! We laughed out loud! We cried out loud! It was fun playing with Lieke!

Tante Nicole

While we played on my new mat we heard another Ding! Dong! Tante Nicole arrived! She definitely wont let a chance like this pass by, 2 kids in 1 visit! We had fun talking to her also, taking turns…if its Lieke sitting on her lap, I look soooo jealously at them! When it was my turn I did not stop talking anymore! Tante Nicole did not know who to pick up anymore so, our Mama’s took a shot of the 3 of us together

04.00pm

Things have to end sometime…Tante Nicole had to pick Nonkel Roger up, Lieke and Mama Hannelore had to go visit her Pépé. Mama and I had to go to the Kinesist.

Well there will be a next time (I REALLY HOPE!) and I hope its soon!

And Oma just cant stop laughing...

(Due to insistent PILIPINO demand, here in an english version of EN OMA MAAR LACHEN...)

Why? I don't know actually!

Like any other sundays, we visited Oma and Opa in Balen. When Oma saw that I like sitting on Mama's lap, she went into the basement and picked up a more-than-30-year-old baby chair! She immediately cleaned it and Mama have me sitted on it in a flash. Oma told me that Meter Vicky and my Papa also sat on that chair when they were a baby. It was a little bit old but sturdy (good for my back) and comfortable. I immediately felt at home with it.

Suddenly I started talking and lauging non-stop...with my right arm leaning on the chair and my left hand in my mouth. I felt I was grown-up too like the rest of the people in the room. Then Mama put my new bonnet on...and Oma just cant stop laughing! It looks like I have something written on my forehead...but what? I still don't know what it is!

Oh well, what's important is I was there with them, sitting around the table with my more-than-30-year-old baby chair!

PS. stoer = macho, tough

In 3 months time

Under the spring sun

Here I am enjoying the nice spring sun today
.
You can see that Papa's easter flowers (Narcissus) and roses are growing nicely. That was planted with love. The grass on our lawn is also starting to grow. It took quite a while for our grass to grow due to the heavy rains that passed by after the seeds were sown.
.
Spring will soon be over and summer is arriving, its time for Mama and Papa to clean the terrace and organize a fun Barbecue!

When the sun comes...

I'm ready!
Let the summer begin!

En Oma maar lachen...

Waarom?

Ik voelde me onmiddelijk thuis.
.

Niels' first day at the day care...

"Hi Niels! Mama is home!". He looked at me for a second trying to distinguish who this familiar face is? Oh its my mama! Then he smiled at me. I picked him up, hugged him and kissed him a lot! And suddenly my tears were flowing out of my eyes. I was so happy to see my baby again. I missed him so much, and that smile just melts my heart.

Such a pleasant smile I had been longing to see the whole day already. Anxious to go home from work I could not think of anything else but Niels. Hope he drinks his milk with Nicole, hope he wont cry, hope he sleeps good, hope hope hope and actually there was no use with all these worries! When he smiled at me, its like he is saying, "Mama, I had a fun day!"

Now my worries are, I hope he would still enjoy being home on thursdays and fridays or would he rather be at the day care? I hope he does not get bored with me :-( I hope he would still like to come home with me when I pick him up in the evening :-(

In the morning after his 6am milk, I dressed him up so he is ready to go to the daycare as soon as he wakes up by 9.30am. While I dressed him up he smiled at me saying, "Mama lets play!!!" I told him its sleeping time still and playing time is when he wakes up in the morning. It looks like he understood me cause after a few seconds he went back to sleep. It just hurts to know that he will not be waking up at home but at the day care and not playing with me like what we did during the 3 months but with Nicole and the other children. Its a nice learning experience for him and I should be happy. I SHOULD BE HAPPY! But its kinda difficult to accept that my baby is growing so fast...soon he wont be a baby anymore.

My baptism

Mama thought I would cry in the church since beginning friday night I caught cold :-s Not really pleasant but I can handle it. The whole saturday and sunday morning I was not really comfortable breathing and sleeping, I was crying most of the time. Mama has to put some drops in my nose to help me breath. Surprisingly, during the baptism my nose went along.

Sign of the cross with the holy oil

Its nice to see the priest talk to me, he also put the sign of the cross on my forehead with oil, its kinda cold but I liked it.

Baptizing with water

Afterwards, he also gave me a quick shower! It was kinda weird though cause it was a very very quick shower...did not even have the time to undress and wet the rest of my body :-)

They really thought I would cry as soon as the priest gave me that cold water...it was alright, its more refreshing than frightening. But anyway, everything went very very well and proud to say...I can be baptized again! I was a good boy yesterday!

Here are some more pictures...

And finally a picture of everybody

Phase 2 and 3

Hello everyone!

On Monday starts a new phase in my life and in my mama and papa's life...starting monday I will be going to Nicole's daycare (This is Phase 3). Im excited to see all my new friends! Mama is a little sad though. She told me she has to get used to the idea still that she won't be seeing me every second and every minute of the day anymore as to the whole 3 months we were together. She will get use to it! As soon as I show her what new things I learned at the daycare she will be fine :-)

And also, I'm old enough to be left in the daycare! I will be a good boy (Mama keeps on telling me the whole week already to be a good boy at the daycare...she should know by now that I AM a good boy!)

I have visited the day care already twice...cause Mama can't get her nerves calmed until she knows I will be ok with Nicole of the daycare. So when we were there the last time, I gave Nicole my biggest smile so Mama will have her peace of mind...and my plan worked! She is ok now....at least that's what she told me!

But before Phase 3 is Phase 2. On sunday, I will be baptized! I will officially have Meter Vicky, Peter Danny, Uncle Lukasz and Ninang Geli as my godparents! Celeste and Nonkel Danny wont be able to join us though because Celeste has chickenpocks! Anyway, I will see her next time!

So wish us all the luck for all these changes in our lives! Also, I'm turning 3 months on 6 April! So, Happy 3rd Monthsary to me!!!
