Princess Nina: almost 4 months!

"Kijk Papa, daar is broer!"  Niels said to his Papa this morning when I went downstairs after picking hungry Nina up from her bed.  All I can do was laugh and told him that he is the "broer" en Nina is the "zus"  And Niels said "Oh ja!" Ha ha ha

Anyways, I would like to share to you some of the progress our little princess is undergoing:

So you see, babies grow so fast. Faster that we think.  And I say, here is a piece of advise to all the Mamas and Papas out there: Spend as much quality time with your babies and enjoy being with them while you can cause they wont stay babies forever :-)

Soon will be Uncle Lukasz' birthday and we congratulate him every year by sending him a birthday card.  And this is the second year that we send it with a little artwork from my little boy Niels.

He has drawn 2 cakes with candles (one small cake with 8 candles and one big one with 10 candles) on the card to say "Happy Birthday Uncle Lukasz" in his own way.  He has also drawn a card with a heart...the heart was almost complete but for that he is still a liiiittle bit too young...but I think with some practice he will be able to do it sooner that I except.  And he asked my help to draw a card with a heart and a book, so I did :-)

Afterwards, his artistic moment was not over yet, he put all his VTM Kzoom stickers in 1 paper and started coloring them too!

During one of those vacation days Kuya Niels was watching Toy Story.  He was at first sitting in his own couch but when he heard me react to the sound of Buzz Lightyear he sat beside be and told me not to be afraid cause its just on television.  And the whole time till the movie was finished Kuya Niels was there beside me keeping me comfort and calm.  How sweet is that?

Ninake

Nina, 3 months and 2 weeks

Our K&G visit for 12 January is postponed to 23 Feb due to unavoidable circumstances.  Meaning we were not able to get Nina's length and weight for her 3rd month.  And she was not able to take her 2nd shot.

But I assure you, she is tip-top-healthy little girl!  Lets see, maybe I can describe how long and how heavy she is now.  I just took out the next size of clothes from the closet, she is now wearing 68 or 74. Her weight...she surely is heavy!  My arms get cramps if she drinks her milk slowly...she starts to drink 200ml milk now.

She sleeps good during the day and also at night. She plays good in her crib or while in her relax.  She has discovered that she has hands she can use and she keeps it wet in her mouth :-)  She starts grabbing her toys and try playing with them...so all rattles and gummy toys are out of the closet as well :-)  Niels is her favorite past time...she adores her big brother...cant take the smile off her face when she sees Niels play around her.

She starts talking a lot as wel.  Starting to become a real girl!  She starts to laugh with a real laugh sound.  Cute and contagious!  And now that she also goes to the daycare, the daycare mom is also getting addicted to her :-)

Happy 3rd Birthday Niels!

And someday, he will be three.  I said to myself 3 years ago.

How time passes by sooo quickly.  Three years flew like a rocket in front of my eyes.  The baby I used to teach how to walk is now a 3 year old who I have to stop from jumping from a 5-step-stairs in Plopsaland!  The baby I have to hold at night and lully to sleep is now asking me to stay up and to not go down with him into the looong big slide because I might get scared.

Now he is 3, and he thinks he can take care of me :-)  Sweet kid, crazy, sometimes naughty, adventurous...too adventurous, but most of all a happy big boy with a Mama, a Papa, a baby sister and all family and friends who love him!

End of the year feasts

Christmas. "Jezus is geboren" Jesus is born and one other thing is for sure...it's time to open the gifts under the Christmas tree!  Oh Niels has been looking forward to it since I put up the Christmas tree and placed all the gifts under it.  He has been a very good boy and was able to avoid not to open the gifts for 18 days!  But today, the very day, he can open ALL his gifts!  And can help open Nina's gift as well.  And then off we drove to invade the Christmas tree in Balen.

 New Year's Eve.  2010 is almost over and 2011 will soon begin.  We celebrated the night with friends and kids who made our eve complete.  And when the clock stroke 12 midnight, we raised our glasses, cheered to the beautiful ending of 2010, gave our kisses and best wishes for 2011.

New Year Reunion with the Elsens. To Heusden we drove.  With the family getting bigger we need a bigger space for all the babies and the kids, and the bigger kids (wink).  And it was perferct!  Good food, good company, laughing children, stories to tell, mommy-hood to share, in short...it was WONDERFUL!
