Friends…

Friends come and go, but there are those who stay of course. We do not see them as often as before, but still we take time to visit or call each other once in a while...just not to completely lose that friends-touch.

After months of not seeing our friends, we all came into a consensus of when and where we would all meet again.

Our place in Hasselt (the city of fashion and good life) on the 18th of September (Saturday), around 7:30pm for a few glasses of cocktail (or beer) and some knick-knacks. And then probably go out to watch the Fireworks by the channel (Albertkanaal) for the opening of the yearly fair (Kermis) or continue the fun outside to the street lights.

And I present to you…the BOMB kids!

Danny and Veerle - Zonhoven (where the sun used to shine)
Lovely couple, so sweet and true. They are the peter and the meter of our 2 little turtles. They have been together since New Year of 1995 or 1996 I think. They lived a few meters from our apartment before, but since last year, we missed them. They bought a house, with a HUGE garden in Zonhoven. And there they will brood their little Danny’s and Little Veerle’s. Just…they decided to take one step forward together…they announced last Saturday that they are going to tie the knot…probably next year or the year after. Oooohhhh…happiness filled the air! Ching-ching-ching! Our glasses sounded like it has never ching before. We were all surprised to hear that…wow! A new sphere in their life, a new tune to dance with, and a family to build. Hartelijk Gefeliceteerd!

Claudio - Maasmechelen (where the new Village can be admired)
Our Italian buddy. Witty and funny curly-haired little Claudio (Mind you! He changed a lot since the last time we saw him…positively). Has also disappeared for quite a while, but now he is back…he is back to hunt you down and sweet talk you about Nuon gas! I bet he is up to something…something I hope and I sure am will make him happy and change the course of his career. He is pretty excited about it. So, go for it Claudio! Vooriut!

Geert - Ham (yup...there is such a place in Belgium!)
The smiling face of this tall young man is seen everywhere, Brussels (where he works), Diest (where he gets in/off the train), Ham (where he lives), Hasselt (where he hangs out every friday or saturday night!)…everywhere where there are girls to find! Intellectual yet funny; sensible yet foolish sometimes…and that makes him human. And its almost his Birthday! PROFICIAT!

You see, our little group of friends is composed of warm-hearted real people. They are true in their hearts and in their minds. Sincere and loving.

We love you guys! We hope to see you again anytime SOON!

Fresh New Day

FRESH DAY
Woke up with a new spirit to go through this new day. Put on, for the first time this September, a formal suit to end this it’s-summer-wear-anything-you-want feeling. Took a better train schedule, 15 minutes later than the usual I take (only after 4 months did I realize that, “Hmmm…I can sleep longer and still be on time if I take this 15-minute-later train.”)

MORNING RAILROAD
Fresh breeze, nice orangey morning light, the smell of coffee in the air, and the sound of morning railroad.

In the train I immediately found a spot to sit on. Put my crossover-body-bag on my lap and as usual…closed my eyes and tried to have a peaceful morning nap. Weird I know but it helps…it inspires me to wake up every morning to drag myself to work thinking…you can still sleep for an hour in the train so GET UP!

On the second stop came the “unlucky” of my day. There came a man, Indian immigrant, bald, about 5 foot 4 inch tall and 3 foot wide with the word “DRUNK” written in bold letters on his face. He sat on the right seat of the couch across me…luckily not in front of me.

So you could imagine how the characters are seated, here is an explanation. I was seated on a couch with a lady on my right. In front of me sat a young man and to his left was the drunk guy.

Parallel to our couch (Me, the lady, the young man and the drunk guy) is another couch of four filled by a group of Belgian women. Their enthusiastic conversation about their weekend sprees was interrupted when this drunk Indian (or Paki or Nepalese, I won’t be able to tell the difference) guy leaned across the isle and murmured something in drunk-Dutch. I have totally no clue what he said…and the women also I guess. Then positioned himself back to his seat. The women started whispering to each other and talked about it…and after a few minutes the drunk guy did it again. Annoying…but you know Belgian patience, so the women just laughed.

LOLLIPOP
Now this drunk guy, pretending to be sleeping, turned his game to this young lady who was sitting beside me. She was reading her morning paper that covers her entire face…which means she has no idea what is happening behind that newspaper. HE just started staring at her legs…THEN between her legs…and smiled like a child given a lollipop!...dont forget the HA!HA!

SLEEPY HEAD
Worse things happen in life…he closed his eyes again and began to sway like those sleepy heads in a bus drooling their dignity off while leaning on your shoulder, in front or to the window (in Filippijnen toch!). HE leaned in front and “accidentally” ended up on the lady’s knees. And you know what the lady said? “Sir, would you mind taking your head of my knees?” THAT’S IT! Very Calm. No slap or kick or anything…NOTHING! What if he didn’t take his head off? Would she just continue reading her paper? If it happened to me…HIS face would end op on the floor and with a crispy mark of my heavy shoes on his face.

LEUVEN
Finally….the lady went off this station and I looked for another place to sit. And as I sat there with a deep sigh…I said to myself, “This is just the beginning!”

Who you are is not who I am…

If you can’t feel, it doesn’t mean I can’t

If you don’t experience, it doesn’t mean I don’t

If you don’t love, it doesn’t mean I have to hate

If you’re not happy, it doesn’t mean I have to be sad

You may know A, but it doesn’t mean you know B, C, and D

Every person is unique.

If comparison to yourself makes you feel an ultimate being…do it, BUT don’t crush someone else for it.

Unlimited

Being in love is what people hate to write or read about...I don't. I say being in love is the greatest thing that can happen to anyone.

But being in love does not only mean meeting someone of the opposite sex and be an ultimate match for each other. Being in love with your family or friends are also acceptable you know. Like when you can really feel how lonely it is to be far from your family. How sad days can be without your ever cheering..sometimes annoying...friends.

That is also being in love.
